WICC is run entirely by volunteers - from our committee to our coaches, scorers to tea makers. Without volunteers, there would be no cricket. Whether you can help once a month or every week, your contribution makes a real difference.
Volunteer Opportunities

Coaching Assistant
2-3 hours/week (seasonal)
Help our qualified coaches with training sessions for youth or adult players. No prior coaching experience needed - we provide training.
Match Day Scorer
4-5 hours per match
Keep the official scorebook during matches. Training provided on the Play-Cricket scoring system.
Ground Maintenance
Flexible - as available
Help prepare and maintain our playing surface. Tasks include mowing, rolling, pitch preparation, and general upkeep.
Event Organiser
Project-based
Help plan and run club events like awards nights, family days, fundraisers, and social gatherings.
Tea/Catering Helper
2-3 hours per match
Prepare and serve teas for players and officials on match days. A traditional and essential part of cricket!
Photographer/Videographer
Flexible - match days
Capture photos and videos of matches, training, and events for our website and social media.
Social Media & Marketing
2-3 hours/week
Help manage our social media presence, create content, and promote club news and events.
Safeguarding Champion
Ongoing role
Support our Safeguarding Officer in ensuring child welfare standards are maintained across all activities.

Safeguarding & DBS Checks
The safety of our young players is our top priority. Volunteers who work with children or vulnerable adults will need to complete a DBS check and safeguarding training. We'll guide you through this process - it's straightforward and free for volunteers. All personal information is handled confidentially in line with ECB guidelines.
